A Camas man struck by a BNSF Railway train has died.
Camas police responded Tuesday morning to a call for an individual hit by a train near the 200 block of Southeast Garfield Street in Camas.
In a news release, Camas police said they found the 68-year-old Camas resident lying next to the railroad tracks. The man, later identified as Randle Leon Sedlak-Ford Jr., died at the scene.
“The initial cause of death appears to be injuries sustained from contact with a westbound train,” police reported, adding that they believe the death was a result of suicide.
The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office, Camas Police Department and Burlington Northern-Santa Fe officials are investigating the death.
