A Washougal man has been charged with first-degree attempted murder for a Dec. 12 stabbing that left another Washougal man seriously injured.
Washougal police said Cody Slot, 40, of Washougal, was arrested Dec. 19, on charges of assault and attempted murder, in connection with the Dec. 12, 2023, stabbing of 27-year-old Washougal resident Justin Samuel.
Washougal police officers responded to a call at a residence on the 2900 block of Main Street in Washougal at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, and, according to court documents, discovered Samuel “lying on the ground, bleeding profusely from stab wounds, mainly in the side and back.”
Emergency responders transported Samuel to a local hospital, where he continued to lose “a significant amount of blood.”
Clark County Senior Deputy Prosecutor Toby Krauel told The Post-Record’s sister paper, The Columbian, that Samuel suffered a punctured kidney, spleen and lung, as well as a facial laceration, has undergone four surgeries, and still has a difficult time speaking.
