The city of Camas is seeking volunteers to support the preparation of the “Our Camas 2045” Comprehensive Plan and the “Our Downtown Camas 2045” Subarea Plan.
Commission members will review and comment on work products, guide public outreach and engagement efforts, act as liaisons to specific constituencies or interest groups, help host public events, encourage community members to participate in the process and act as champions of the ultimate “Our Camas 2045” vision, “Our Camas 2045” comprehensive plan and the “Our Downtown Camas 2045” subarea plan that emerge from this process.
“Our Camas 2045” will establish a vision for growth and development and will articulate goals, objectives, policies, and actions to guide our future. The plan will also address recent changes to Washington’s Growth Management Act related to housing and climate change. In addition, “Our Downtown Camas 2045” will provide a more detailed vision and action plan to catalyze public and private investment in our historic downtown that preserves and enhances its unique sense of place.
Commission members will represent a broad cross-section of community interests. They should be residents of the city of Camas, own or operate a business in the city of Camas or represent a group or organization that operates within the city of Camas, or otherwise serves Camas’ residents or businesses.
The Commission will meet eight times from January 2024 through June 2025, to share their opinions and perspectives, study issues and develop recommendations in a focused group setting.
