The Artisans’ Guild of Camas, a community of 40 local artists and artisans, is hosting an art supply drive to help Camas students. Donations will help support the Camas School District’s middle- and high school art programs.

The art supply drive runs through Saturday, Aug. 26, with two drop-off locations in Camas, including:

  • Camas Public Library, at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; and
  • Fuel Medical, at 314 N.E. Birch St., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

In addition to the physical drop-off locations, the Artisans’ Guild of Camas has introduced an online donation option to accommodate those who prefer to contribute remotely. By scanning the provided QR code or visiting the guild’s website (artisansguildcamas.org), donors will be directed to an Amazon Wish List. This allows individuals to select the desired art supplies from the list and conveniently complete their donation online.

All items purchased through the Wish List will be sent directly to the organizers for distribution to the art teachers in the Camas School District. Donations through the Amazon Wish List are open through Friday, Sept. 1, allowing for continued support beyond the drop-off dates. Inquiries about cash donations should be emailed to Hayes Freedom High School art teacher Miranda Wakeman, at mirandawwakeman@gmail.com.

The Artisans’ Guild of Camas has identified several essential art supplies that are in high demand for middle and high school art programs. These include: acrylic paints, watercolor paints, drawing pencils of various grades, paintbrush sets, canvases of assorted sizes, oil pastels and colored pencils.

Donors are encouraged to contribute new, unused supplies to ensure the students receive the best materials for their art education.
