The city of Camas will celebrate the reopening of the newly revamped Riverside Bowl Skatepark (formerly known as the Camas-Washougal Skate Park) from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the skatepark, 2900 N.E. Third Ave., Camas.
The event will unveil the park’s new mural, painted by Washougal artist Kevin Seagraves, who was selected from a group of six possible muralists by a committee made of city staff, members of the public and the Camas Parks and Recreation Commission. Seagraves, a former skateboarder, owns Xtreme Effectx in Washougal and specializes in airbrushing.
The updated skatepark design includes elements for beginner to advanced skaters. In addition, the park renovations will also feature a cement mural wall along the parking lot side of the bowl and an art mural above the keyhole entrance into the bowl.
Entertainment at the July 27 reopening celebration will be provided by SameWave Radio as part of the city’s 29th annual Concerts in the Park series.
