The city of Washougal will hold its third annual National Night Out event from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Hathaway Park, 732 25th St., Washougal.
The event will feature ice cream, a dunk tank, games and giveaways.
“On behalf of the members of the Washougal Police Department, I want to invite everyone to once again participate in (our) National Night Out event,” said Washougal Police Chief Wendi Steinbronn. “National Night Out is one small part of our overarching goal to enhance community engagement. This is a time to strengthen police-community relationships and meet your neighbors in a fun, welcoming environment.”
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. Neighbors throughout Washougal and across the United States are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement officers.
