Camas Parks and Recreation will host its 32nd annual egg hunt, “The Camas Egg Scramble,” at 1:30 p.m. Easter Sunday, April 9, at Crown Park, 120 N.E. 17th Ave.

Participants are encouraged to arrive ahead of time, as all egg-hunting events will start at the same time.

Candy and prize-filled eggs will be hidden in designated egg hunting areas color-marked for age groups 2-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-12.  The Camas egg hunt is unique in that all ages start at the same time from their designated areas.

All children participating in the egg hunts must be accompanied by an adult, but adults will not be allowed in the egg-hunting areas, with the exception of adults accompanying children ages 3 and younger, or children with special needs. Participants should also bring a basket or bag in which to collect their eggs.

All abilities are welcome to join in this annual event.  A designated “Egg Stroll” has been developed to prioritize accessibility and enhance this inclusive activity for all ages. Those needing accommodations should call Krista Bashaw at 360-834-5307.

Prizes in the eggs will include candy, toys and prize tokens, which can be turned in at the event to claim a prize. Participants are asked to open all the eggs they collect and to return the empty eggshells so they can be used again next year.

The Traditional Easter Bonnet and Contemporary Hat contest will take place at 2 p.m., at the covered shelter inside Crown Park. This event will be hosted and sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Cascade Park.

The Easter Bunny will make an appearance at Scout Hall in the park for photographs between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m.

No registration is required for the egg hunt or the bonnet/hat contest.  The annual event is one of the city’s most popular, however, so participants should leave plenty of time for finding a parking spot. The city will have an accessible parking and drop-off area along Northeast 15th Avenue and Northeast Dallas Street.

The Kiwanis, VFW Post 4278, VFW Auxiliary and WinCo have sponsored this year’s egg hunt event. For more details and an event map, visit cityofcamas.us/parksrec/page/camas-egg-scramble-0 or contact Krista Bashaw at 360-834-5307.
