Latest News, News The city of Camas is currently seeking candidates for its open community development director position.
Interested candidates will have until Aug. 31 to apply for the management position, which offers an annual salary range of $123,000 to $148,000 plus benefits, including a pension with the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems.
The city is seeking candidates with a minimum of five years’ worth of experience in urban or regional planning or development; management and supervisory experience; and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in urban or regional Planning, public administration, urban design or a related field. The city would prefer candidates who hold a master’s degree in public administration, planning, community affairs or a related field, as well as candidates who have “significant experience with the services, fiscal structure and environment of government agencies, preferably the local government level.”
In its job advertisement for the top community development position, the city states that Camas “is looking for a collaborative and visionary leader with broad planning and community development experience who is dedicated to engaging with the public to shape the future of Camas.”
The new community development director will report to the city administrator — another position still open at the city of Camas that is currently being filled by an interim city administrator.
In addition to the city administrator and community development director positions, the city of Camas also is actively seeking applicants for several other openings, including a lead wastewater treatment plant operator, senior stormwater engineering technician and seasonal maintenance workers.
