Latest News, News A Vancouver man working as a part-time UPS driver was arrested earlier this month after allegedly entering a Washougal-area home while the residents were sleeping.
The homeowner contacted the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday, July 2, to report that a UPS delivery driver had entered their home off of Mabee Mines Road, northeast of Washougal, about an hour earlier.
The resident provided surveillance video that showed the driver enter the back door first, then walk through the front door and down a hallway. The homeowner’s daughter confronted the driver, who left the package and exited the home, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The next day, a homeowner on Wantland Road in the upper Washougal River area called the sheriff’s office to report a similar incident. The UPS driver tried unsuccessfully to enter that home, the news release states.
The UPS Security Office and UPS Depot in Portland assisted with locating the driver, identified as 26-year-old Aiden Fetters. He was employed as a part-time, fill-in driver for the company, the sheriff’s office said.
Fetters was booked into Skamania County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary, first-degree criminal trespassing and third-degree theft.
