Latest News, Life, News The Camas-Washougal Historical Society welcomed four new board members in January, appointing John Bayer, Trish Bayer, Jason Ferrier and Josh Stahly to three-year terms.
The quartet joins Jim Cobb (president), Alma Ladd (vice president), Betty Eggar (treasurer), Marilyn Brown, Lois Cobb, Dorothy Durkee, Ivar Godtilbsen, Richard Johnson and Patricia Suggs on the board.
The group appointed John Bayer as its new secretary.
“This is a working board, with members taking on responsibilities for the operation of the museum and for the work of the society,” Jim Cobb said in a news release. “Once people join our board, they are excited to become more involved and pick a category of the museum operations that piques their interest. The new members bring the board total to 12, with 15 being the number of the full board. We are always looking for new members as many on our board are in the 80s.”
Stahly has been serving as a volunteer at Two River Heritage Museum for the past 10 years.
“My love of history and my desire to learn about my community drew me (here),” Stahly said in the news release. “I have enjoyed meeting and working with the outstanding group of dedicated people that work here at the museum. When the opportunity to be part of the board came up last summer, I was excited to become even more involved. We have a small gem of a museum here, and I look forward to helping care for it.”
The museum will re-open for general admission on Saturday, March 5. From March through October, the museum is open to the public from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information, visit 2rhm.com.
