The Port of Camas-Washougal closed the breakwater dock at Parker’s Landing Marina on Monday, Feb. 14, to begin a construction project that is expected to be completed in early June.
The Port will replace its breakwater access ramps, which are not compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, with wider, “acceptably sloped” ramps, according to a news release issued by the Port, which expects to re-open the dock on Friday, June 3.
The ramps, which will be 7 feet wide to allow for a small utility vehicle to access in case of emergencies, will be connected by three concrete platforms.
“Each will feature benches for those who wish to rest and enjoy views of the marina and Columbia River,” the press release states.
The electrical lines along the breakwater dock will also be removed and relocated through conduit mounted to the dock.
