Port of Camas-Washougal commissioners will vote during their Sept. 1 virtual meeting to approve an agreement with Portland-based developer Killian Pacific to design and construct an apartment complex and park on the Washougal waterfront.

Earlier this year, Killian Pacific announced plans to build the Ninebark apartment complex on a 9-acre site a short distance east of the Port. The Parker’s Landing development will include parking, private open space, interior sidewalks, landscaping, site lighting and a 7,000-square-foot clubhouse.

“Because of the amazing location of this development, we are really focused on providing a differentiated living opportunity, taking advantage of the views, the park, and the river, and really elevating (it) into something different,” Killian Pacific director of development Michi Slick said during the Port commissioners’ Aug. 18 virtual meeting.

Killian Pacific also plans to develop a 53,312-square-foot area along the south boundary of the site into a public park, bordering the existing Washougal Waterfront Park and Trail.

“Our goal is to provide a park for the community that engages through thoughtful place-making and art and to take advantage of the amazing natural habitat that exists there, both with the river and the green areas,” Slick said during the Aug. 18 meeting.

Construction is slated to begin later this year.

“It sounds like it’s going to be an amazing development,” commissioner John Spencer said during the Aug. 18 meeting. “I’m very much looking forward to seeing this come through.”
