Fort Vancouver Regional Library (FVRL) will hold a series of community forums at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at 1700 Main St., Washougal.

FVRL is seeking public input about the new library facility it hopes to build in downtown Washougal. The library “will provide more materials, resources, internet and computer access, and additional space for meetings, study, programs and workshops,” according to FVRL.

In April 2019, Washougal residents Wes and Diane Hickey agreed to donate a vacant, 18,000-square-foot parcel of land at the intersection of Main and Durgan streets in downtown Washougal for the future library.

FVRL is currently seeking an architect to create a conceptual design for the library and is working with the Friends of the Washougal library group to raise money for the new facility.
