For the seventh year in a row, the city of Camas has earned a certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
The most recent certificate is related to Camas’ comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended Dec. 31, 2019.
“I’m extremely proud of our finance team for receiving this achievement for the seventh consecutive year,” said Camas Mayor Barry McDonnell. “This acknowledgement recognizes their effort to consistently maintain a high standard for our community, and I appreciate that.”
The city’s director of finance, Cathy Huber-Nickerson, said the recognition is a reflection of her team’s efforts.
“My team works extremely hard to be transparent for our residents,” said Huber-Nickerson. “So, this certificate really validates that effort and reminds our residents that we’re constantly striving to provide them with as much information as possible, even during a pandemic.”
The certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
