Fireworks allowed in Camas-Washougal on New Year’s Eve, with restrictions

Only 'safe and sane' fireworks OK in Washougal; violators face up to $250 in fines

The Camas-Washougal Fire Marshal’s office recently released a reminder about the types of fireworks allowed to be discharged in Camas and Washougal over the New Year’s holiday.

In the city of Washougal, only “safe and sane” fireworks — those that do not fly or explode — are allowed. The city of Camas has not enacted a “safe and sane” fireworks restriction.

Fireworks sales are permitted in Camas and Washougal from noon to 11 p.m. Dec. 29-31.

Residents in Camas and Washougal may discharge legal fireworks from 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, through 1 a.m. Jan. 1, 2021.

Use of illegal fireworks or discharging legal fireworks outside the allowed time and dates in the cities of Camas and Washougal could result in a $250 fine and possible seizure of fireworks.
