Daniels bowls to 4th-place state finish
Two weeks ago, Kaeli Daniels said that she wanted to shine at the 4A state bowling meet, and that’s exactly what she did.
The Camas senior, who averaged 156 during the regular season, rolled her way to a 186 average and a fourth-place finish at the 4A state meet, held at Narrows Plaza Bowl in Tacoma on Feb. 7.
“Oh my goodness, she was on automatic. It was crazy,” Papermakers coach Barb Burden said.
Burden said that Daniels was struggling with her aim a few days before the state meet, but listened to her coaches’ advice which pushed her to new heights.
“She kept missing her mark by a few boards,” Burden said. “I told her instead of aiming at the arrows down the lane, just focus on one of the little dots near the foul line. We practiced the night before (the tournament) and she really picked it up.”
