The victim of a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred outside a police station in Hillsboro, Oregon, on Monday, has been identified as Jason Livengood, 39, of Camas.
Hillsboro Police officers responded to what police are calling “a suspicious circumstance between the drivers of two vehicles, in the West Precinct parking lot” off Southeast 10th Avenue in Hillsboro, around 6 p.m. Monday evening, Oct. 21.
Police say one of the two drivers, later identified as Livengood, was armed with a handgun and “refused to drop it.”
Shots were fired and Livengood was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, also a male, was uninjured. No police officers were injured in the shooting.
Hillsboro police later reported that Officer Bobby Voth, a 22-year law enforcement veteran who has worked with the Hillsboro department for two years, was the officer who fired the lethal shots.
Police say they recovered a handgun at the scene. The Washington County Major Crimes Team is leading the investigation.
