The free Camas Summer Concerts in the Park return to Crown Park this month.

The first concert in the 2019 series is slated to take place the night before the annual Camas Days weekend, on Thursday, July 25, and will feature the Brian Odell Band with funk, fusion and folk sounds inspired by artists such as Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Jack Johnson.

The concerts are held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on Thursdays, from July 25 to Aug. 15, in Crown Park, 120 N.E. 17th Ave., Camas.

Aaron Meyer will play the Aug. 1 concert and entertain crowds with his unique, high-energy rock violin. On Aug. 8, My Happy Pill, a dance band with funk and pop sounds, returns to get the crowd on its feet; and, on Aug. 15, Sister Mercy, with singer April Brown, wraps up the Summer Concerts in the Park series with deep blues originals and covers.

Natalia’s Caf? will be available for food concessions during the concerts. Meals also can be purchased at Top Burger, located across the street from the park, or from a variety of restaurants in downtown Camas, four blocks away. And picnic dinners are always welcome.

“The best part about my job is bringing our community together to share some quality time together,” said Krista Bashaw, the city of Camas’ special events coordinator. “And, the Summer Concerts in the Park help do that. They give us another opportunity to relax, spend time with family and friends, share a meal and enjoy some really, really good music.”

Camas Parks and Recreation coordinates the annual summer concert series.

Sponsorships from Riverview Community Bank; Edward Jones Investments, the office of Blaine Peterson; and Partners with Camas Parks & Recreation help keep the concert series free for the public.

Crown Park prohibits alcohol and dogs and other pets are not allowed in the park. For more information about the Summer Concerts in the Park, visit cityofcamas.us/parks.
