UPDATE: Road is reopen as of 1:37 p.m.
A three-car traffic collision has closed the Washougal River Road in Washougal in both directions at milepost 3.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office and emergency medical crews responded to a report of a three-vehicle, head-on crash on the river road around 11 a.m. today.
The driver and sole occupant of one vehicle involved in the collision suffered serious injuries, and was taken to an area hospital in an ambulance. The occupants of the other two vehicles suffered minor injuries, police said.
The road is closed in both directions until further notice. Clark County Sheriff’s Office traffic detectives are currently on scene.
Police urge drivers to use alternate routes and to remember that fresh rainfall after a significant dry spell results in oily and slick pavement, so drivers should use caution.
“At this time, we cannot rule in or out slick roadway as the cause in this collision,” law enforcement said in a press release.
