Camas volleyball heads to state
The Papermakers volleyball team survived a gauntlet of five-set games in the district tournament to qualify for the semi-finals, on Nov. 10, in Kent, Washington.
Camas lost to Olympia, and then to Puyallup, in the final week of the tournament, earning fourth place in the district.
“The first game was good. We could have beaten Olympia, but after that tough match the girls were defeated and did not play well against Puyallup,” Michelle Ford, head Camas volleyball coach, said.
The Camas team will open the state tournament against Issaquah on Friday, Nov. 16, at the SunDome in Yakima, Washington.
“I told the girls not to worry,” Ford said. “We made it to state, so just focus on not being selfish and cheering more for your teammates than yourselves.”
