Two members of the Camas School Board unexpectedly resigned this week, citing personal reasons for their departures.
Camas School District Board President Julie Rotz and Vice President Casey O’Dell announced their resignations at the School Board’s regular meeting on Monday, Feb. 12.
Rotz, who had served on the board for eight years, said her family is moving to Saint Johns, Florida this week, where her husband has accepted a new job.
O’Dell had been a member of the school board for 17 years, but said he was finding it challenging to devote enough time and attention to the board since taking a new job as the Port of Vancouver’s director of facilities in October of 2017.
Both resigning board members said they appreciated having the chance to help guide the school district.
