Area residents can dine with pilots and help future aviators at a steak dinner from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 22, at Grove Field Airport, 632 N.E. 267th Ave., Camas.
Each dinner includes a six-ounce steak, salad, baked potato, lemonade, pork and beans and cake, and costs $15 per person. The price includes an introductory membership in the Camas-Washougal Aviation Association.
Chicken also will be available. Attendees should bring steak knives and will grill their own steaks or chicken. There will be a pie auction and raffles for baskets of items donated by local merchants and restaurants.
Proceeds will benefit the CWAA college scholarship fund. Scholarships are available for local students entering aviation-related programs. Career options include pilots, aviation maintenance and air traffic controllers.
People can explore the Grove Field Airport during an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 23. In addition to airplane displays and soft drinks, plane rides will be available for $25. Tickets for the plane rides will be limited to first-come, first-served.
