Bus routes, start and end times and lunch prices will go through changes in the Washougal District next year.

With the opening of a new elementary school next fall, the Washougal School District will make slight adjustments to transportation routes and start and end times for all schools.

These time changes, most five minutes earlier or later, will allow the district to accommodate the additional bus routes, while minimizing disruptions to families and students, according to a press release.

The new school schedule times are as follows: Washougal High School, 7:50 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.; Jemtegaard Middle School, 8:04 a.m. to 2:35 p.m.; Cape Horn-Skye Elementary/Canyon Creek Middle School, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Hathaway Elementary, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Gause Elementary, 9:10 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.; and Columbia River Gorge Elementary, 9:10 a.m. to 3:40 p.m.

New bus routes will be available by the middle of August at the district website, www.washougalsd.org.

Another change for fall will be updated meal prices. At an April 4 meeting, the Washougal School Board approved prices as follows to cover rising costs.

Breakfast: Elementary, $1.85; middle schools $1.95; high schools $2.10; and adults, $2.25

Lunch: Elementary, $2.75, middle schools, $2.95; high schools $3.15; and adults, $3.50.
