A driver was ejected and killed in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday morning on state Highway 14 in Camas.
The male driver was heading west in a blue 2003 Kia Rio 4-door on the highway at a high rate of speed about 3 a.m., according to Washington State Patrol.
The driver, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway to the right and struck the dirt embankment, state patrol said.
The vehicle then re-entered the roadway, rotated 180 degrees and struck the Jersey barrier, troopers reported.
The driver was ejected and came to rest in the grass on the south side of the highway.
Troopers said that speed was a causing factor in the crash, though state patrol is investigating whether drugs or alcohol was involved.
