A record year at the Stride May 25, 2017 5:30 am Schools The 14th annual Student Stride for Education had record participation levels, with 631 toeing the line to raise $17,000 for classroom grants and scholarships in Washougal. "We are absolutely thrilled to see the community involvement in this event because it represents a commitment to enhancing the quality of education in our community by families and businesses," said Stephanie Eakins, event director. "Student runners and 5K run/walk participation fund the event, while our generous sponsors make up the total amount raised for classrooms." Since its inauguration in 2004, the WSF Stride has become a popular community event, and the primary fundraising activity for the Washougal Schools Foundation. (Photo by Greg Brown) Share
