Five champions lead Panthers to sixth straight Clark County title

The Washougal girls wrestling team won their sixth Clark County Championship in a row Saturday, at Hudson's Bay High School, in Vancouver.

Ten finalists led the Washougal High School girls wrestling team to their sixth consecutive Clark County Championship Saturday.

The Panthers racked up 220 points, 103.5 more than Skyview, to win the 15-team tournament, at Hudson’s Bay High School, in Vancouver.

Washougal wrestlers Jenna Beaver, Jaden Robb, Mialisa Oster and Abby Lees pinned their opponents for championship medals. Morgan Ratcliff won 6-4 in the finals for the Panthers.

Samantha Eakins, Laura Rasmussen, Mikah Bartel, Brooklyn Wurm-Wertz and Emily Eakins secured second place. Ariana Clemente and Aleksi Donahue earned third place. Aria Yang and Sariah Clark took fourth place, and Josalyn Tanner finished in fifth place.

The Washougal boys wrestling team claimed sixth place at Clark County.

Tanner Lees and Michael Hickey reached the championship round for the Panthers, but ended up settling for second place. John Gable, Scott Lees and Cole Pass grabbed fourth place, and Jason Powell placed sixth.

Washougal hosts R.A. Long in its final home duel of the season Thursday. The varsity matches begin at 7 p.m.
