During a two-month food and toy drive, WaferTech Camas employees donated 4,289 pounds of food and 290 toys, to benefit the Clark County Sheriff's Office Santa's Posse. From Oct. 5 to Dec. 5, the local semiconductor manufacturer set aside a conference room in its lobby for its annual "Stuff the Room" event. "This year the team set an aggressive goal to support Santa's Posse -- and they managed to collect 1,400 pounds more food than last year," said John Megli, human resources manager. "It was a great effort by the team and the company." Roy Montoya, chairman of WaferTech's community volunteer committee, led a group of volunteers who actively engaged with employees to support the efforts by handing out bags for food collection, manning a booth to support the drive during a benefits fair, and writing articles in a weekly newsletter. On Dec. 18 Santa's Posse volunteers delivered gifts and food baskets to 900 families, including 3,100 kids, around Clark County. Santa's Posse began in 1997 as a partnership between the Clark County Sheriff's Office and Rotary Clubs of Clark County, to help families in need during the holidays. The effort is supported through donations from individuals, businesses and non-profit organizations. For more information, visit http://santasposse.com. (Contributed photo)
