The haunted season has arrived, and there are plenty of Halloween activities and events for all ages in Camas, Washougal and beyond.

Cape Horn-Skye Harvest Carnival

Cape Horn-Skye Elementary School will host a harvest carnival Saturday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gym, 9731 Washougal River Road, Washougal.

The event will include games, a haunted house, food for sale, candy, raffles, a costume contest and a $500 Black Friday Visa gift card raffle.

Boo Bash

The Downtown Camas Association’s annual Boo Bash will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 3 to 5 p.m.

The popular annual event often draws more than 2,000 kids dressed in costumes to downtown for trick-or-treating at local businesses.

Downtown roads, between Third and Fifth avenues and Franklin and Adams streets, will be closed to vehicle traffic from 1 to 5:30 p.m.

This year, a prize will be awarded to the merchant wearing the best costume.

NorthLake Church Family Fun Night

An evening of free, family-friendly activities will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., at NorthLake Church, 500 S.E. Everett Road, Camas.

It will include a pumpkin carving contest, bonfire, photo booth, games, face painting and treats. Hot dogs, chips and soda will be available with a donation to the church.

Kids are invited to dress up in family friendly costumes.

Pumpkin Carving Contest

Carve a pumpkin at home and bring it to the Camas Public Library Thursday, Oct. 27, at 4:30 p.m., to compete for prizes.

Awards will be presented after the judging in categories including most creative, scariest and funniest.

Pumpkins can be delivered at any time the day of the judging, but carvers must be present to receive an award.

Listening in the Dark at the Camas library

Dan Sisco and Camas Public Library staff will read Halloween stories for all ages on Friday, Oct. 28.

At 7 p.m. there will be not-so-scary stories for children. Then at 8 p.m. there will be an adult hour filled with hair-raising tales.

The event will be held in the Totem Room at the library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave.

Family Halloween Night

Family Halloween Night will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., at Liberty Middle School, 1612 N.E. Garfield St., in Camas.

The festivities for children ages 2 to 12 will include games, prizes, a costume contest, inflatables and crafts. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The entry fee is two cans of non-perishable food items, which will benefit the food bank at the Inter-Faith Treasure House.

Scary Run

The Scary Run, with 5K and 10K options, will be held Sunday, Oct. 30, beginning at 9 a.m., at Reflection Plaza in Washougal.

The event will include food and beverages, and prizes for the best costumes. Awards will also be presented to the top three overall males and females, and masters champions, and the top three winners according to age group.

Pre-registration costs are $40 for adults and $25 for kids ages 16 and younger for the 5K, and $50 for adults and $30 for kids ages 16 and younger for the 10K. Prices include race T-shirt, finisher’s medal and post-race food and drink. Prices increase for day-of-race registration.

WHS Haunted House

Washougal High School drama students will present the Haunted Theater.

The third-annual event will be held at the Washburn Performing Arts Center, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28 and 29. This year’s theme is “What Are you Afraid Of?”

On Oct. 28, a “younger haunts” house will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m., which will be a less scary version and more appropriate for younger children. Cost is $3 per person.

From 8 to 11 p.m. on Oct. 28, and from 7 to 11 p.m., on Oct. 29, the full haunted house will be open and the scares will be dialed up. Cost is $5 for the first pass through and $3 for subsequent trips.

Proceeds support the drama department.

Coffinwood Manor

Coffinwood Manor is a Halloween themed yard display and walk-through haunted house in Washougal.

The display, located at 730 Ninth St., is filled with static and animated creatures, as well as a group of “scareactors.” The display in the front yard is suitable for all ages, while the walk-through portion is for older kids and adults.

It will be open from 7 to 11 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 21 and 22 and 28 and 29, and Monday, Oct. 31.

Admission is free. A fill-the-coffin food drive is being held in conjunction with the event. Donations will be given to the food bank at the Inter-Faith Treasure House.

Columbia Ridge Senior Living

The assisted living facility will host a trick or treat event Saturday, Oct. 31, at 5:30 p.m., at 2300 W. Ninth St., in Washougal.

Cookies and hot apple cider will be served.

Bethel Community Church Harvest Festival

Bethel Community Church, 1438 “B” St., in Washougal, is hosting a free harvest festival Monday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Clark County Scaregrounds

Through Oct. 31, people of all ages will have the opportunity to experience four full-sized, themed haunted houses at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield.

The Clark County Scaregrounds Haunted House Scream Park is open from 7 to 10 p.m., on Oct. 20, 23, 27, 30 and 31, and from 7 to 11 p.m. on Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 29.

The fairgrounds are located at 17402 N.E. Delfel Road.

Spirit Tales

Spirit Tales walking tours of Vancouver’s oldest neighborhood are being held this month.

Led by historian and author Jeff Davis, the tours take participants back in time with stories about the site and the people who inhabited Officers Row and the Vancouver Barracks.

Tours are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 23 at 2 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Tour tickets are $15 each, and include hot refreshments. Each tour is an hour long and covers just less than one mile. Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Tours are not recommended for children younger than 11.

Clark County Historical Museum Haunted Walking Tours

The museum’s annual walking tours are held Fridays and Saturdays in October, at 7 and 9 p.m. Tours start at the Slocum House, 605 Esther St.

Open to ages 13 and older, the cost is $10 per person for the public, and $8 per person for museum members.
