The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce recently announced the recipients of the “Business & Leadership Awards” program. All six people will be honored at the Chamber’s Annual Officer Installation Dinner and Awards event Thursday, Sept. 15.
The chamber will recognize the leadership legacy of John McKibbin, former GVCC CEO, elected official, and head of Identity Clark County as the 2016 “Excellence in Leadership Award” recipient.
McKibbin died earlier this year in a private plane accident on the Columbia River.
The Chamber will re-name the “Excellence in Leadership Award” to the “John S. McKibbin Excellence in Leadership Award,” for its 2017 awards program.
Other honorees will include Business of the Year (Large Business): Waste Connections; Business of the Year (Small Business): Sweet Spots Skirts; 2016 Start up to Watch, High End Market Place; Statesman of the Year: Commissioner Neil Kimsey of the Clark Regional Wastewater District; Community Champion: Ben Bagherpour of SEH America Inc.
The ceremony will be held at the Vancouver Hilton. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., for a reception featuring the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. The program follows at 5:30 p.m.
